"Mama RUSSIA"

A cultural research project exploring
the artistic heritage of Russia’s diverse regions and communities

Mission & Vision
Artistic expedition captured on film aimed at discovering and popularizing the living cultural heritage of Russia’s diverse regions through:
paintings and objects, visual languages and artizian techniques.
The project combines visual art and documentary cinema, forming a single immersive exhibition experience.
The aim is to reveal regional identity and diversity
explore the connection between people, land, and artistic expression.

DOCUMENTARY FILM
As part of the project, we travel to
selected regions of Russia to:
-
meet local artists
-
visit studios & workshops, villages,
and cultural landscapes -
explore traditions and everyday life
-
document the process on video
The expedition itself becomes a central narrative
of the project.
During the expedition, we produce a documentary film that:
tells the personal stories,
reveals the cultural and historical context of each region,
shows how identity, tradition, and contemporary life intersect.
The film complements the paintings, deepening the viewer’s understanding.

Exhibition
as an Immersive Experience
The exhibition combines two layers:
Paintings & Objects — the visual outcome
Film — the emotional and narrative context
The audience does not simply observe the works,
but enters the cultural and human story behind them.
Exhibition "Mama Russia"
is an journey to uncover and preserve
what often remains unseen for international audience
